- Federal law and the Nevada Division of Mortgage Lending require new Mortgage Agents, (or Mortgage Agents in an unapproved status), to complete the 30 hour Mortgage Loan Originator SAFE
Comprehensive Course pre-licensure education.
- This education includes 3 hours of Federal law, 3 hours of ethics (which shall include fraud, consumer protection, and fair lending issues), 2 hours of non-traditional mortgage lending, 4 hours of Nevada-specific education, plus 18 hours of undefined education (electives).
Every licensed Mortgage Agent (in any approved status) is required to complete a total of 10 NMLS-approved continuing education (CE) hours annually. This includes 3 hours of Federal law, 2 hours of ethics (which shall include fraud, consumer protection, and fair lending issues), and 2 hours of non-traditional mortgage lending, plus 3 hours of Nevada-specific education (referred to as an elective). Mortgage Agents who have completed pre-licensure education (PE) course requirements in the same year in which the license was approved are not required to complete CE.
