Delaware Appraisal New License Requirements
In the state of Delaware, there are four levels of real estate appraisal licensure:
- Appraiser Trainee
- Licensed Real Property Appraiser
- Certified Residential Real Property Appraiser
- Certified General Real Property Appraiser
Before you can consider a career in real estate appraisal, you must first meet the following initial requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years or older and possess a high school diploma or GED
- Pass the state exam
- Submit application and required documents and pay associated fees
You do not need any training hours to acquire an Appraiser Trainee license, but you must complete 75 hours of education. Delaware Appraisal Upgrade License Requirements
Once you have received your Appraiser Trainee license, you will need 75 more hours of coursework plus 2000 hours of experience completed within 24 months in order to move to the Licensed Real Property Appraiser level. If you’ve obtained the Real Property Appraiser license and would like to advance further, you will need to cover these initial higher education requirements:
- For Certified Residential level: A minimum of an Associate’s Degree OR 21 college semester hours in specific subject matters
- For Certified General level: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree OR 30 college semester hours in specific subject matters
After meeting these educational prerequisites, you must complete 50 additional hours of coursework plus 2500 hours of experience completed within 24 months to become a Certified Residential Real Property Appraiser. For the Certified General Real Property Appraiser license, you will need a further 100 hours of coursework and 3000 hours of experience completed within 30 months from your first appraisal.
Delaware Appraisal Continuing Education Requirements
All Alabama real estate appraisal licenses expire September 30 every year and must be renewed. In order to renew your license, you must complete 28 hours of continuing education (7 of these hours must be covered by the USPAP Update course).
